In my post How to Start a Blog in 2017 (And Make Money), I laid out the foundation for anyone looking to start a self-hosted WordPress blog and make money with it.  But if you were confused about how to install WordPress within Bluehost (and didn’t call support to help), this is a tutorial on how to do it.

Once you are logged into Bluehost, navigate within the website and click on the WordPress icon.

Next select the domain name you choose from the drop down.  You can leave the box after the name empty.

Next check the “show advanced options” box.  Then type in your username, site title and password.  The only thing you can’t change is the username so pick a good one.

Click “Install Now” and wait for the installation to finish.

You will receive an email about your site being done along with credentials after the installation is complete.

And that’s it, you are done!  Open up another browser, navigate to http://www.<YOURDOMAINNAME.com/wp-admin and use the username and password you just choose in the previous step.
